Wow. That phrase "people don't die in front of their television" is powerful.

Those inhales before speaking could make for a piece in themselves.

I wonder if he composed the words and then looked for them in CNN footage or if he found them while editing or used a combination of both methods (seems most likely).

His video installation at the Whitney Biennial was really interesting, a video about it is the next post.

i had the chance to see the full 10 minute version a couple years ago, it's much more intense and the build up to the really surreal parts is more subtle. the guy who showed the vid was his gallerist thomas banovich of postmasters a i'm think what he said was that omer fast had made a kind of dictionary out of hours and hours of cnn footage then wrote the text then used software to generate the cnn video cut up
