"With ceramics, there's a volatile element with everything you make, because you have to put it in the kiln and hope it doesn't break in the 1,800-degree heat, and hope it doesn't break again when you put it in a second time at 2,500 degrees," the University of Georgia grad student said Monday.
"To come out with it in one piece, it's like, 'Oh, I made it' - but then to have someone come in and smash it to pieces, it's just crazy," he said.
